General

I'm interested in applied robotics, machine learning, movement, and general AI.

Deep Learning and the Factory of the Future

My research focuses on industrial robots and deep learning in the Factory of the Future. This poster summarizes some of my recent work, speeding up the convergence of object detecting deep convolutional neural networks.
Due to its related nature, I'm participating in the annual RoboCup@work challenge, leading the smARTLab@work team.

I'm affiliated with the Chemistry Lab of the Future project, an Industry 4.0 take on the traditional chemistry lab, in which robotic workers assist humans in doing menial chores.

Teaching & Other

Other research I'm affiliated with is using deep learning for classficication of medical samples and 3D laser SLAM.

I'm giving tutorials for Comp111/Introduction to AI and, on occasion, providing tours through the smaARTLab for open days or outreach.
