The Transglobal Express Project

1. SUMMARY

The Transglobal Express project was a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between:

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool, and
Transglobal Express Limited.

The project commenced on the 1 June 2007, complete 31 August 2009.

The project was funded under the DTI Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme. The overall objective was to develop a complete strategic software platform which would provide support for the control of "freight forwarding" operations in commercial enterprises. The research goals were:

  1. The evaluation of current reverse engineering methodologies and technologies as applied to WWW application software.
  2. The investigation of the commercial utility of WWW usage mining in the context of eCommerce applications.


2. PROJECT TEAM

The project team comprised:

  1. Lawson Archer (company supervisor and LMC chair) - Transglobal Express Limited.
  2. Frans Coenen (lead academic and academic supervisor) - Department of Computer Science, the University of Liverpool.
  3. Louise Dickson (company facilitator) - Transglobal Express Limited.
  4. Russell Martin (academic support) - Department of Computer Science, the University of Liverpool.
  5. Reshma Patel (KTP associate) - Department of Computer Science, the University of Liverpool.

DTI advisor is Bob Astly.
