Grzegorz Muszynski

PhD Student

I am a Data Scientist/Postdoc in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab at the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) environmental research institute in Cambridge, UK.

I am a Ph.D student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool, Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

I am also a Student Research Assistant in the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California, the United States.

My supervisors were Dr. Vitaliy Kurlin and Dr. Michael Wehner.

My research interests include pattern recognition, topological data analysis, machine learning, dynamical systems, and climate science.

In particular, I develop and apply topological methods and machine learning techniques for detecting extreme weather events (patterns), e.g. Atmospheric Rivers and Atmospheric Blocks.
