The NeST Software Lab is a sub-division of the Network Sciences and Technologies (NeST) initiative at The University of Liverpool.

We focus on experimental research and development of software and other technological solutions. This unit actively seeks and works closely with a variety of industrial partners.

UK General Election 2015

Using data gathered from Twitter we have produced several data analytics on the topic of the UK General Election 2015.

NeST Hackathon 2015

The main function of this event was to bring together groups of individuals who either already have a keen interest in big data and know how to work with it or would like to learn more about what big data is and some of the methods and tools that are already in place to be able to deal with it in industry and accademia.

The theme of the event was big data with the focus being on uk transport data in particular. Check out this project to see what interesting apps were submitted and also to see what teams won.

TweetParade

TweetParade has been developed in The Department of Computer Science at The University of Liverpool in conjunction with MSP-AV. It provides a real-time collection of tweets that have been filtered by specific keywords or hashtags.
