Introduction

At the meeting of the BCTCS Organising Committee in April 1996, it was agreed that a draft formal constitution for the BCTCS be prepared for discussion at BCTCS13 at Sheffield in 1997.

A preliminary version has now been drafted and may be found here

Anyone with an interest in the activities of the British Colloquium for Theoretical Computer Science who wishes to offer constructive criticisms, additions, changes, and general comments on this draft is strongly encouraged to do so by e-mailing me at

ped@csc.liv.ac.uk

I will append a summary of comments and changes suggested as and when such are received.

Paul E. Dunne (Secretary, BCTCS Organising Committee)

(Addendum: (February 1997)

In view of the number of comments and suggestions that have been received already, the following procedure will be followed when the matter of the BCTCS Constitution is raised at BCTCS13.

The original draft and list of proposed changes will both be circulated at the Colloquium.

A `final draft' incorporating certain agreed changes, will be put forward for adoption as the Constitution. This `final' version will be available to all attendees at BCTCS13.)
