SUMMARY:MIF Series
DESCRIPTION:Laura Gardiner: Harnessing Multi?Omics Foundation Models to Accelerate Biomedical Discovery.\n\nFoundation models are transforming how we analyse biological data, integrate diverse modalities, and generate actionable insights in precision medicine. In this talk, I will present our latest work developing multi?omics biomedical foundation models that unify genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, molecular, and imaging data to enable more accurate target discovery, disease subtyping, and patient?specific drug response prediction. I will highlight a recent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) case study demonstrating how fine?tuned transcriptomic and protein FMs outperform classical machine learning approaches, reveal biologically coherent targets, and guide drug response modelling.\n\nhttps://www.csc.liv.ac.uk/research/seminars/abstract.php?id=1487
