ASSOCIATE FOR TCS PROGRAMME

Applications are invited for a post of (Research) Associate within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool. The post has arisen as a result of a TCS (Teaching Company Scheme) award for the PETER (Plant and Equipment Tracking and Effective Retrieval) project between the Department and Tachograph Analysis Consultants Ltd (TAC).

It is expected that the successful applicant will be a good quality computer science graduate, preferably with some knowledge of developing integrated distributed computer software and agent technologies. Personal attributes would include good verbal communications and interpersonal skills. TAC will also provide an environment in which the successful candidate can demonstrate management potential.

The post will be tenable, in the first instance, for a period of two years, commencing October 1999 or shortly thereafter, at an appropriate salary on the RA (1B) scale. It is expected that at the end of this term the successful applicant will continue the research work within TAC. The successful applicant will also be afforded the opportunity to register for a higher degree.
