Proposed alterations to draft constitution

• Postgraduate representative on Organising Committee to be elected annually (instead of every 3 years). (received: 4/12/96)
• Add sentence in Section 4.1., to the effect that the offices of President, Secretary, and Treasurer must be held by three different people at any one time. (received: 5/2/97)
• Clarify 5.2. concerning criteria for meeting to be quorate.(received 5/2/97)

  Suggest:

      The Open General Meeting will be quorate if, there are present:
        a) At least 2 of the current President, Secretary and Treasurer.
    and b) At least 1 of the Local Organisers.
    and c) A minimum of 10 other people attending the Colloquium.

• Clarify position regarding size of Organising Committee in event of the Local Organiser for the next colloquium already being member of the Organising Committee, i.e. as an office holder, additional member, or previous/current Local Organiser. (received 5/2/97)

  Possible changes:

  1. Disqualify current office holders from acting as Local Organisers for Colloquia during their period of office.
  2. Allow the committee size to be less than 9 if a Local Organiser is also the current President, Treasurer or Secretary.
  3. If a Local Organiser is also an elected additional member, either elect a replacing additional member or allow the committee to co-opt individuals to restore committee size to 9.

  (1) seems a little bit extreme. Some combination of (2) and (3) might be adopted if this is felt to be important.

  Simplest solutions would be to insert the word `up to' in 4.1. or remove the numerical specification. (Modifications: P.E.D. 6-7/2/97)
