Poetry Explorer for iPad
Poetry Explorer is for anyone interested in getting inside a poem or prose excerpt, rather than leaving it flat on the page, like a set-text.
It enables you to copy any text onto your screen, and then offers two ways of interactively re-creating the poetry, to see its inner workings:
1) Mark-up
- you can use highlights and arrows to play with how one word stands out, or links with another earlier or later, in the poem's own brain.
2) Fridge Poetry
- you can substitute one word for another of your choice, or change the word order, to see if it works better or worse that way.
There is also a split-screen option so two people can do the poetry together - two friends, parent and child, or in an educational setting, teacher and student.
The App, for iPad, is available from Apple's App Store:
