Feel free to mail me if you want to contact me on any of these projects.
Moreover, I will be available on Thursday 15 May, and Monday 19 May, from 9:00 to 11:00 to discuss possible options.
The paradigm of agents is one which provides a way to take a `human perspective' towards software: the idea is that we reason about programs as if they know where a document is, and they want to delete a specific task.
Whereas beliefs of agents, desires and intentions are now well-accpeted aspects of such their mental state, only now research is starting concenring the emotions of agents. Interesting questions in this respect are
The literature on epistemic logic knows a lot of nice and well-known puzzles and paradoxes, like the muddy children, the byzantine generals, Sum and Product, and so on.
The aim of this project is to make a tool that is able to represent Kripke models, and also to 'calculate' changes on these models, when agents learn new information.

(This is a joint project with Clare Dixon) In many situations people/agents/players do not have full information about their environment but may have knowledge or belief about their situation. As the game Cluedo proceeds the players' knowledge about the murder suspects, implements and locations evolves until a player knows who was the murderer, the weapon and the place. This project involves the analysis and specification of the changes in knowledge associated with each move in the game and the design and implementation of software that, given a move by a player will show the knowledge of each player. This project may be extended to develop and analyse strategies for making the next guess dependent upon a player's knowledge.

I am a customer who regularly flies from Liverpool to, say Amsterdam, using Easyjet. Often I am flexible in
the days that I travel, and
often I know the week I want to fly pretty much in advance.
I have only vague ideas about the pricing policy of Easyjet, but it seems that by watching their site it should be possible to make predictions about prizes of flight tickets going up or down, for a specific flight.
What I would like to have is a web-based form, which takes as input my preferred days of traveling and destination, and which outputs me advise on;
As an author, I write my papers using LaTeX. The biography for a paper is stored in a special bib-file. I like to have a tool that interacts with my text-editor, and that allows me to insert bibliography references in a text easily. Also, when writing with co-authors, they often use their own bibliography files, using different keys for the same items. The tool would be able to find such duplicat occurences.
